METAMORPHIC ROCK
The reason metamorphic rocks are called metamorphic is because they are rocks that have been morphed (changed) from either igneous rock or sedimentary rock. Either types of rocks were under tuns of dirt and pressure. The heat builds up and the rock morphs into metamorphic rock.
SEDIMENTARY ROCKFor thousands of years wind and water has been eroding earths surface. Bits of earth wash away by streams and then settle in the bed of lakes, oceans, and rivers. The layers pile on top of each other and form pressure on the bottom layer. Causing sediments to form sedimentary rock.
IGNEOUS ROCKIgneous rock can be formed above or below the earth`s crust. Underground igneous rock is formed by magma that is cooling. When a volcano erupts magma will rise above earths crusts it is then going to be called lava. When the lava flows it cools and hardens and turns into igneous rock.
